What we hold about you, why we hold it, and who else sees it.

01Who is responsible

Premiere Cargo is the data controller for the information described here. It is the trading name of Premiere Collection, based in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia.

Contact us about anything on this page at info@premierecargo.org.

02What we collect

When you open an account: your name, email address, telephone number, and whether the account is personal or business. We issue you an account number.

So we can deliver: your delivery area, written directions if you give them, and — if you choose to share it — a location from your device. Sharing a location is optional and you can use the service without it.

About your packages: tracking numbers, the courier and store, the description on the label, weight, size, declared value, and the name printed on the box.

Your receipts. These are the most revealing thing we hold. A receipt typically shows what you bought, what you paid, and often your home address and the last digits of a card. Saint Lucia Customs cannot assess duty without it, which is the only reason we ask.

Payments: the amount, the currency, the exchange rate used, and a Stripe reference. We never see or store your card number.

Technical: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

03Why we hold it

  • To attribute a box on a warehouse shelf to the right person
  • To present goods to Saint Lucia Customs and pay the duty assessed
  • To work out what you owe and take payment
  • To get the package to your door
  • To tell you what is happening — arrival, receipts we still need, payment due, delivery
  • To keep records we are required to keep, including for customs

We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing you have not asked for.

04Who else sees it

We use a small number of providers, each for one job:

  • Supabase — the database and the receipt store, hosted in the United States.
  • Vercel — runs the website itself.
  • Stripe — takes card payments. Stripe receives your name, email and the amount; your card details go to Stripe directly and never through us.
  • Resend — sends the emails we send you.
  • Saint Lucia Customs and Excise — receives what it needs to assess and clear your goods, including the receipt.
  • Our shipping line and port agents — the manifest for a sailing.

Our own staff see only what their job needs. A delivery driver sees the name, phone number and directions for the stops on their own run and nothing else — this is enforced by the database, not by hiding a page.

If you open a map link from our site, that request goes to Google and is subject to Google's own terms. Address searches, if you use them, go to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service.

Your information goes to the United States, because that is where the warehouse and most of these providers are. We would disclose information to a court or authority where the law requires it.

05How long we keep it

We keep receipts indefinitely. A receipt is the evidence Saint Lucia Customs assessed duty from, and destroying it would leave every past assessment unsupported — including in any question raised about it years later.

They are archived 21 days after delivery. A receipt shows what you bought and what you paid, and once your package is with you there is no day-to-day reason for warehouse staff to open one. From then on it is still held and still retrievable, but only by the office — not by everyone with a staff login.

The record of a shipment — what was declared, what duty was assessed, what was charged — is kept for as long as customs and tax law requires us to account for it.

If you close your account we delete what we are not required to keep. Customs and accounting records we must retain stay for their required period and nothing else is done with them.

06How it is protected

Your data is separated at the database level, not merely hidden in the interface: the rules that decide who can read a row live in the database itself, so a mistake in a page cannot expose another customer's packages.

Receipts are stored privately. They are never publicly addressable, and viewing one uses a link that expires within minutes.

Passwords are hashed and we cannot read them. Traffic to the site is encrypted.

No system is perfect. If we ever suffer a breach affecting your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority.

07Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Give you a copy of what we hold about you
  • Correct anything wrong — you can edit most of it yourself in your account
  • Delete what we are not legally required to keep
  • Stop sending you a particular kind of message

Write to info@premierecargo.org and we will respond within 30 days.

Some messages are not optional while you have goods with us — telling you a package needs a receipt, or that it is out for delivery, is part of providing the service rather than marketing.

Saint Lucia's Data Protection Act came partly into force in January 2023. The parts creating enforceable data subject rights have not yet been proclaimed, so the rights above are ones we offer because they are right, not because we are currently compelled to. We do not intend to withdraw them when that changes.

08Children

The service is not for people under 18, and we do not knowingly hold information about children.

09Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we will email you about it.
